I was very kindly invited to Belfast’s newest fine dining restaurant on Waring street, in the heart of Cathedral Quarter last weekend Six by Nico. Chef Nico and his team designed “The Chippie” inspired by traditional fish and chips, the city’s Maritime heritage and Donegall Quay’s “big fish”.
Six amazing courses from chips and cheese to battered mars bars but not as we know it!
It’s no secret I cant cook so when I find something fool proof to make for the kids I will give it a try and hope I don’t burn the house down or poison the kids (so far I haven’t done either). A friend recently suggested I make chocolate bark with the kids to use up some of the extra sweets and popcorn so we gave it a try, that didn’t turn out so good when the younger girls decided to trow the whole bowl of sweets on the chocolate and then distract me when I was melting the white chocolate so of course I burnt it. Yes that’s right I burnt the chocolate! Second time round I decided to make it again while the girls were sleeping so they couldn’t distract me.
The weatherman promised us sun for the summer! Don’t get me wrong we had a lovely few weeks of sunshine where the kids just wanted to play in the garden in the paddling pool all day every day. But now the sun has disappeared we look at ways to keep five kids entertained at home.
